What To Expect On Your First Visit
Your first visit to StillPointe will give you an opportunity to find out if chiropractic and integrated natural care can help you. You will receive a tour of StillPointe and an introduction to some of our services. Our doctors will thoroughly review your health history to make sure that your condition can be helped through the services we offer. We will do a complete examination that includes spinal testing, orthopedic exams, range of motion and neurological tests. If you need x-rays, we will order them at the first visit.
Some other specialized tests may include:
Myovision: This non-invasive exam uses scanning technology to measure muscle balance and determine the amount of electrical activity your muscles release when they are contracting. The scan provides data that pinpoints where your spine may be misaligned and the muscle spasm or weakness associated with it. Your printed scan results will help us develop an effective treatment strategy. Our goal is to restore the normal flow of energy to the affected areas of your spine.
Digital scanning for pelvic stabilization and foot/gait dysfunction: You will stand on a platform and the scanner assesses the balance of your pelvis. The scanner determines if you have foot problems such as flat feet, low arches, pronation or the need for orthotics. This is a quick, non-invasive test and you will receive a report and recommendation for any conditions that need treatment. Every muscle weakness or imbalance affects the rest of your body, so it is important to gauge this status and minimize additional new health issues.
Body composition (BIA): this is a comprehensive test that tells you about your general health including lean muscle mass, levels of hydration (water) in and outside the cells, general cell health and toxicity in your body. This test will also tell you your body mass index and the number of calories your body needs to maintain your weight.
Report of Findings
We will arrange an appointment in the next day or two for a report of our exams, and recommendations for your care and treatment. At that visit we will answer questions about our treatment recommendations, schedule of care, insurance coverage or payment plans, and begin your treatment. We welcome your questions and encourage you to bring your spouse, partner or family members to this appointment.
